2008 Tiburon Wine Festival

Mary Musalo

Mary Musalo has been painting for two decades. She works exclusively in acrylics on canvas board and wood.

She is a self-taught artist who has learned to trust her style and creative eye. The Impressionists and great masters of the past influence the background, which gave way to the subject of her works. The theme and bold style are repeated again and again through layers of colors. Musalo's intense imagination guides her imagery and helps to create a rapport between the viewer and the painting. She leaves room for the onlooker to enter the story and encourages the view to become part of the theme.

Her belief, that there is "no right and wrong - only your perception,: radiates in the subtle textures and tones of her work. Many of her pieces can be found on mantels and walls across the country, as well as murals and outdoor pieces.

Kathryn Servino

The front cover was produced by Kathryn Servino. For years her education in art has been applied to the interior of family restaurants, Servinos, and more recently the Caffe Acri. Her talent can be seen in everything from the hand-mixed colors, fabrications and even the paintings on the walls. This past season Kathryn started her own interior decorating business, KRS Designs where she has already established a clientele of successful restaurants looking to update their image. We raise our wine glasses and wish her well in this new venture.

Roger Felton

This year’s Tiburon Wine Festival poster artist, Roger Felton, is a long-time resident of Belvedere.

He and Marcia moved to their 100 + year old home in 1961 and raised their family of three there. He has always worked in graphic arts; his first job was with Schmidt Litho and his last was with Seagrams/Paul Masson as Vice President Creative Director. As a local volunteer, Roger provided most of the design, sketches and art work for the Landmarks Society and Belvedere Community Foundation. He is one of the artists who painted Belvedere’s lane signs. His latest project is working with Laleh Zelinsky on a “Historic Ark Row” logo and signage.

His family wishes he would spend more time painting and less time walking Belvedere and Tiburon dogs for Pooch Promenade.
